Join us for the “Iron Moto Challenge” at Motoblot

With Motoblot (formerly Mods vs. Rockers Chicago) just days away, we’re stoked for one of the year’s top perennial events. We’ll be in attendance with a full crew as always, but this year there’s an extra layer of awesome that we we’re a part of: the Iron Moto Chalange, presented by Triumph, British Customs, ICON 1000, and Raen Optics.
Here’s how it’s gonna work: four Chicago area Triumph dealers, including us, were assigned a Triumph motorcycle model at random a few weeks ago. What would we end up with? It wasn’t up to us. Could be a Thruxton. Could be an America. Could be a Rocket III. Could be a Tiger 800. What’d we end up with? Well you’ll have to come out to Motoblot and see.
With just a short time to prep a design and get parts out for paint, the real action will take place on June 14 when the motorcycles will be torn down live in front of the crowds at Motoblot, and then re-assembled with custom painted components and a whole mess of parts from British Customs.
The whole idea is to show just how much you can make a motorcycle your Triumph unique using mostly bolt-on parts and a bit of imagination to go from OEM to OMG. Gotta say, Motoworks is a bit of a ringer at this. We’ve been building softly customized Triumphs for a while now. You can see those “Works Edition” motorcycle in our Featured Bikes section here on BTM.
So come out on Saturday, cheer us on, and check out what we’ve got planned for this one-of-a-kind motorcycle built at a sprinter’s pace. That said, there’s another way you can participate in the motorcycle building action. Although a panel of judges will score the final build-off results, you also get a vote. The Motoblot crowd will get to cast their ballots on the four machines and help crown the winner. Here’s how Cycle World summed it up:

The winning build will be determined by a panel of judges composed of industry leaders Julian Heppekausen of Deus Ex Machina, Brian Klock of Klock Werks Kustom Cycles, Kevin Dunworth of Loaded Gun Customs, and Christy Lee of All Girls Garage, each of them experts in the world of custom bikes. The builds will be judged on their curb appeal, paint quality, and of course performance and hoonability! Fans will be able to cast their vote for their favorites at the show, which will also factor into the judges’ decisions.

See you there!
